Managing Director

David Hassett holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Monash University and developed experience as a qualifed accountant within Ernst & Young audit division. He continued his professional development by joining the audit division of leading second tier Chartered accounting firm, Grant Thornton.

Leveraging off the knowledge he had gained from four years in the accounting profession, David joined Lloyd Morgan as a recruitment consultant focusing on the recruitment of accounting and finance staff across a variety of industries and levels.

Due to success in this role, David was approached by and ultimately joined Dunhill Management Services (later to become Robert Walters), where he recruited middle management and senior roles in the Commercial and Professional accounting sectors.

Recognising the need for a recruitment agency that offered more personalised care and placement services, David was instrumental in forming this boutique firm in 2002. Throughout his career to date, David has been successful in retaining over 90% of all clients due to his business to business approach and passion for delivering the highest level of service every time.

Principal Consultant

Tom Hutchinson holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Melbourne, in addition to a Graduate of Diploma of Business (Human Resource Management). Tom is a Certified Professional of the Australian Human Resources Institute, and joined Hassett in 2010 from leading mid-tier chartered accounting firm Grant Thornton.

Tom held the position of Human Resources Manager with Grant Thornton, where he was responsible for service line support to the Corporate Finance, Assurance and Insolvency divisions. His portfolio also included remuneration and benefits strategy, learning & development, university and experienced hire recruitment, performance management, international secondments, CA program coordination and employment law.

Throughout his HR career, Tom has also attained international experience working with Service Innovation Group in the UK. In addition, he has worked with the My Chemist retail pharmacy group in Melbourne as the Senior Recruitment Consultant.
Tom brings a wealth of knowledge to the role, and prides himself on open and honest communication with both clients and candidates. Having dealt with recruitment agencies over many years, Tom is determined to provide a more thorough, professional and relationship based approach than currently exists in the accounting and finance market.
