For Clients

Our Recruitment Methodology

At The Hassett Group our commitment is to assist clients select, develop and retain high calibre employees.  To achieve this we have developed a fully integrated and objective approach to recruitment.

We only interview selected candidates against the key competencies that you identify and combine this with a structured behavioural-based interview approach.

After identifying a shortlist of candidates, we prepare reports on the candidates’ competencies summarising their backgrounds, strengths & weaknesses, career ambitions, salary expectations and finally our recommendation as to why we believe they should be considered for the role which includes their cultural suitability for the client.

Initial Client Briefing

In consultation with the relevant the client decision makers we obtain all the information required to allow us to identify the most suitable candidate for the pending assignment.

Develop a Competency Based Assignment Specification

This is based upon the key skills, attributes behaviours and technical aspects the short listed candidates should possess. It also provides adequate company information to ensure all candidates to be interviewed by the client have a thorough knowledge of the organisation prior to the interview. (refer Appendix A)

Client Confirmation of Assignment Specifications

We will submit to you the details of the brief to get agreement from yourself that we have fully covered every aspect of the recruitment strategy.

Appropriate Candidates Identified

Our success in recruiting across all levels and industries is based on a four tiered approach which is designed to maximise candidate coverage in the market.

Networking/Executive Search

Extensive networking will be used to identify the availability and suitability of appropriate candidates who may not be actively seeking a new role. This involves confidential discussions, shoulder tapping and referrals targeted at high quality candidates.

Database File Search

Our comprehensive skill coded database allows us to search our extensive pool of candidates based on the specifics of the assignment on hand.

Advertising

To attract the best available candidates in the market we will draft an advertisement (if applicable and pending the client’s approval) to appear in the press. Advertising in the newspaper media attracts a significant response from individuals who may not be actively looking but are attracted to the role. In our experience, Saturday’s edition of ‘The Age’ – Early General News section captures the most comprehensive and high quality response of candidates in the market. Appendix B outlines costs associated with advertising in this forum. It should be noted that The Hassett Groupplaces no margins on these costs

Internet

Now used extensively in promoting opportunities. We predominantly use www.seek.com.au and this forum will be at no charge for the client.

In Depth Candidate Interviews

Once suitable candidates have been identified, they are then interviewed addressing all the key criteria you have specified as crucial characteristics they should possess.

Comprehensive Reports Prepared

A review and recommendation is prepared and resumes presented in a report to you prior to client interviews.

Client Interview

Client interviews with all short listed candidates are organised by The Hassett Group. Relevant feedback is then obtained and presented to both the candidates and the client management.

Reference Checking

Extensive and tailored reference checking is then undertaken to include specific areas the client management would like covered or investigated. (refer to Appendix B for our generic reference check form which can tailored as required)

Negotiation of Offer

We will act as a broker between the client and the preferred candidate in relation to the structuring and negotiation of an offer.
