Sam Docherty
Sam Docherty leads Hassett Leadership, working with organisations, teams, and executives in high pressure environments where leadership behaviour, not intention, determines results.
His leadership philosophy is shaped by elite performance environments where pressure is constant, outcomes are visible, and standards are tested publicly. As a former AFL player and Co Captain of the Carlton Football Club, Sam experienced firsthand how performance holds and fails when standards slip.
That experience, combined with his work in governance and not for profit leadership as a Board Member of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation, underpins a simple belief: Results don’t sustain culture. Standards do.
Sam holds a Bachelor of Business and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). His work focuses on turning purpose into clear, repeatable leadership behaviour that holds under pressure, in decisions, meetings, and moments that shape culture every day.
