ABOUT OUR CLIENT & THE ROLE
Our client is a transport solution specialist with a national presence. They are currently seeking an experienced and hands-on Accountant to step in on a three-month contract to support their internal finance team. This is a broad role suited to someone confident with both transactional and higher-level accounting tasks. The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in journals, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance, while also comfortable managing day-to-day transactional duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring
- Prepare and post journals with a high degree of accuracy
- Conduct balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
- Support payroll processing and related accounting entries
- Maintain the general ledger across multiple entities
- Assist with month-end close and preparation of management reports
- Liaise with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies
- Support the finance team with audit preparation and ad hoc reporting
- Proven experience in a similar allrounder Accountant role
- Strong technical accounting skills, particularly in journals and reconciliations
- Confident managing both transactional tasks and month-end processes
- Experience working across multiple entities or business units
- Proficiency in accounting systems such as Xero, MYOB, or similar
- High attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- CA/CPA qualified or working towards (preferred but not essential)
