ABOUT OUR CLIENT & THE ROLE

Based in the city fringe, they are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role will primarily focus on supporting the day-to-day transactional finance functions, including accounts payable and receivable, with the opportunity to assist with month-end tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Processing and reconciling supplier invoices and employee expenses
- Managing customer invoicing and receipting
- Monitoring accounts receivable and following up on outstanding payments
- Assisting with payment runs and banking processes
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries in a timely manner
- Supporting month-end close activities where needed (e.g. journals, reconciliations)
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Providing general finance team support and administrative assistance
- Prior experience in an accounts assistant or similar finance support role
- Strong understanding of AP/AR processes and general ledger principles
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. Xero, MYOB, or similar) and Excel
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reconciliations
- Good communication skills and a proactive, collaborative approach
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Availability to commit to a 6-month contract, with immediate or near-immediate start preferred
