ABOUT OUR CLIENT & THE ROLE

Our client is a well established, family owned Australian business operating across property development, construction and facilities management. This is a full time Assistant Accountant role supporting a hands on Finance Manager with support from a wider group finance team. The role has a strong focus on month end support, internal financial processing and accounts payable. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being across the detail and is keen to continue developing their accounting career in a stable, growing and supportive environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Processing supplier invoices end to end, including inbox management and resolving discrepancies
  • Managing supplier relationships and ensuring payments are made in line with agreed terms
  • Monthly supplier statement reconciliations and timely resolution of outstanding items
  • Processing corporate credit cards and employee reimbursement claims
  • Assisting with month end close, including journals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparing and processing intercompany invoices
  • Supporting budget preparation and periodic forecasts
  • Assisting with tax and compliance documentation and external advisor queries
  • Partnering with internal stakeholders to provide timely financial support
  • Identifying opportunities for process and system improvements
  • Maintaining documentation of finance processes and controls
  • Responding to ad hoc finance requests accurately and efficiently
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting or a related discipline
  • CA or CPA studies commenced or intending to in the future
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in an Assistant Accountant role
  • Strong accounts payable and transactional processing experience
  • Exposure to month end accounting and journal preparation
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills
  • Confident communicator with a collaborative and positive working style
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Construction, property or maintenance industry exposure advantageous but not required
