Our client is a well established, medium sized architectural practice delivering complex projects across Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
This newly created part time Bookkeeper role will support the Directors by owning day to day financial operations and producing clear, practical monthly reporting on turnover, expenses and profitability.
This role is expected to suit someone seeking two to three days per week, with the opportunity to grow the scope over time as they become embedded in the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing end to end accounts payable including invoice processing, approvals, reconciliations and supplier payments
- Preparing and issuing monthly client invoices, tracking debtors and actively managing collections
- Maintaining accurate accounts receivable and payable ledgers with regular ageing reports
- Overseeing cash in and cash out, supporting short term cashflow visibility and payment planning
- Managing intercompany invoicing and reconciliations across group entities
- Processing payroll including superannuation and leave balances
- Maintaining accurate employee financial records and payroll reporting
- Preparing monthly business reports covering turnover, operating expenses and profitability
- Supporting Directors with clear financial insights and variance explanations
- Working with the external accountant on BAS, statutory obligations and audit support as required
- Maintaining strong financial controls, documentation and compliance processes
- Proven bookkeeping experience within a professional services or consultancy environment
- Strong capability across AP, AR, payroll and reconciliations
- Experience producing or contributing to monthly financial reporting is highly regarded, but not essential
- High attention to detail and a methodical, reliable working style
- Confidence communicating with Directors, project leaders and external stakeholders
- Experience using Xero is required, with openness to learning project based systems
- Exposure to architecture, engineering or construction environments is helpful but not essential
- Comfort working independently and taking ownership of a defined scope
