ABOUT THE ROLE

Our client are currently seeking a commercially astute and analytically driven Commercial Analyst to join their Sydney-based team. This role plays a key part in supporting revenue growth, profitability, and operational excellence by delivering financial analysis, performance forecasting, and commercial insights. Working closely with stakeholders across sales, product, operations, and finance, the Commercial Analyst will help inform strategic decisions and enhance business performance through data-driven recommendations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver insightful commercial analytics including customer segmentation, churn modelling, pricing support, and product cost analysis
  • Lead revenue forecasting cycles with clear variance reporting and actionable recommendations
  • Analyse revenue and gross margin performance across products, services, and customer segments to identify trends and commercial opportunities
  • Support pricing models and commercial frameworks that drive margin optimisation and competitive positioning
  • Provide financial input into tender responses, pricing strategy, and enterprise contract structures
  • Prepare commercial inputs for monthly management and board reporting
  • Maintain high data integrity, supporting pipeline accuracy and forecast reliability
  • Conduct competitor and market analysis to inform pricing and commercial decisions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple business units to align financial and commercial goals
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline
  • CPA, CA, CFA, or other professional financial certification (preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience in revenue forecasting, commercial finance, and margin analysis
  • Proven ability to build and manage pricing models and perform product cost analysis
  • Strong data management skills, ideally with CRM experience
  • Advanced Excel and BI tool proficiency (Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
  • Strong financial modelling, forecasting, and analytical capabilities
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and communicate insights clearly across functions
