ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client is a Melbourne-based manufacturer specialising in high-end motorised AV lift systems and custom concealment solutions. Their products are featured in award-winning homes, luxury apartments, and world-class commercial developments, trusted by leading architects, builders, and developers. With a strong reputation for innovation, craftsmanship, and locally made quality, they deliver both standard and bespoke solutions across Australia and international markets.

About the role

This role takes full ownership of end-to-end finance for our client, covering month-end close, management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, cashflow reporting, payroll, tax compliance, and oversight of transactional tasks. In the first 12 months the focus will be on delivering timely and accurate reporting, driving process and system improvements (including the transition to Wiise/Business Central), and strengthening financial controls, compliance, and cost management, requiring strong SME manufacturing experience, advanced Excel skills, and a hands-on approach.

Core Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of end-to-end finance for our client, including month-end close, management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow reporting.
  • Manage accounts payable, payroll, invoicing, cost inputs, and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with tax obligations and prepare statutory reporting.
  • Oversee transactional finance tasks carried out by the Admin Assistant.
  • Strengthen internal controls and lead process and system improvement initiatives.
  • Support the transition from MYOB/Ostendo to Wiise (Business Central) while enhancing reporting efficiency.

Skills and Competencies
  • Demonstrated experience working within SME manufacturing environments.
  • Capability to manage both transactional finance and higher-level management reporting effectively.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with ERP systems, including transitions to new platforms such as Wiise/Business Central.
  • Background in working with multi-entity structures (desirable).
  • Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to design, streamline, and improve processes.
  • Professional qualifications such as CA/CPA are preferred but not essential.
