About the role
Our client is seeking a commercially minded Manager - Contracts & Tenders to lead the negotiation, management and execution of major contracts and tenders across large infrastructure projects. The role combines commercial negotiation, contract governance, risk management and business development, with responsibility for building relationships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 contractors, securing new project opportunities and ensuring contracts are delivered in line with legal, operational and commercial objectives. Working closely with legal, finance, operations and executive leadership, this position will play a key role in driving sustainable business growth while maintaining strong commercial governance and compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation, negotiation and management of major customer and supplier contracts.
  • Manage end-to-end tender submissions, EOIs and proposals for major infrastructure projects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Tier 1 contractors, clients and key industry stakeholders to generate new business opportunities.
  • Identify, assess and mitigate commercial, contractual and operational risks across projects.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, governance, environmental and commercial requirements while maintaining consistent contract management processes.
  • Partner closely with operations, legal, finance and commercial teams to drive successful project delivery and achieve business growth objectives.

Skills and competencies
  • Proven experience managing complex contracts, commercial negotiations and tender submissions.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify, assess and mitigate contractual and business risks.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across clients, contractors and internal teams.
  • Strong knowledge of contract governance, compliance and regulatory requirements within infrastructure or construction environments.
  • Highly organised with exceptional project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality commercial documentation and influence key stakeholders.
