They are seeking a dynamic Depot Manager / Business Development Manager to lead a reinvented role that combines depot operations with active business development. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to take ownership of a busy depot while also driving commercial growth in the local area.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This full-time, on-site position is based at the Bayswater depot and offers a mix of hands-on leadership and strategic outreach. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations, lead a small and stable team, and be responsible for driving new business across 3 out of 5 working days.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing the overall operation of the depot to ensure safety, cleanliness, staff coordination, and service delivery
- Leading and motivating a team of 3 onsite staff within a broader roster of 15–16
- Developing new business and expanding commercial bin supply agreements (an easy sell with education and support provided)
- Meeting and exceeding KPIs related to volume and client engagement
- Promoting high standards in depot presentation, staff retention, and operational consistency
- Representing the site in the local community and with commercial clients
- Brings strong operational experience, ideally within depots, trade centres, or waste/recycling environments
- Is confident, reliable, and able to manage both people and processes effectively
- Has a natural ability to build rapport and drive business at a grassroots level
- Shows initiative, pride in presentation, and attention to detail
- Understands the importance of KPIs, performance metrics, and team motivation
- Holds a current driver’s licence (a site vehicle is provided)
- Full-time, Monday to Friday role
- Salary range $75k to $90k based on experience + salary packaging
