ABOUT OUR CLIENT & THE ROLE

Our client is a leading national agribusiness, supplying high-quality produce through innovative and sustainable farming practices. They are seeking a Finance Manager on a fixed term 18 month contract to lead the financial management, planning, and performance reporting of one of their key operations. Based in the CBD with hybrid flexibility, this role partners closely with operations, production, and executive leadership to drive efficiency, cost control, and strategic growth.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Take full ownership of P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow performance
  • Deliver accurate weekly, monthly, and annual financial reporting, analysing variances and performance drivers
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring alignment with operational and production goals
  • Oversee detailed costings for cultivation, harvesting, packaging, and distribution, ensuring accurate product margins
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and efficiency
  • Prepare and review capital investment business cases, conducting ROI analysis and financial modelling
  • Partner with production and operations teams to drive yield optimisation and resource utilisation
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation obligations, and internal controls
  • Support internal and external audits, financial governance, and risk management frameworks
  • Lead, coach, and develop the finance operations team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline, with CA/CPA qualification highly desirable
  • Proven financial management experience in agriculture, FMCG, food production, or manufacturing 
  • Strong expertise across P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow management in complex environments
  • Demonstrated skills in budgeting, forecasting, costing, and financial modelling
  • Experience preparing and reviewing capital investment business cases and ROI analysis
  • Strong leadership and people management capability, with the ability to build cross-functional relationships
  • Commercially astute with excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Advanced Excel and ERP system experience
