ABOUT OUR CLIENT & THE ROLE
Our client is a leading Australian-owned organisation operating in the wholesale and distribution sector. With a long-standing reputation for excellence, innovation, and customer service, they are seeking a Finance Manager to play a key role in driving financial performance and supporting national operations.
This newly created position will report to the Financial Controller and lead a small team of accountants. With national scope, the Finance Manager will be instrumental in preparing financial reports, delivering data-driven insights, managing forecasting and budgeting cycles, and contributing to the organisation’s commercial and strategic goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the preparation of monthly financial and management reports, including analysis and commentary.
- Drive annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Operations, Procurement) to support commercial decision-making.
- Provide financial insights to support pricing strategies, cost initiatives, and business development.
- Identify and implement process improvements across the finance function.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory, tax, and statutory requirements.
- Manage external stakeholder relationships including auditors and financial institutions.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team.
- CA/CPA qualified with a tertiary degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At least 5 years' experience in a senior finance role, ideally within wholesale, distribution, or FMCG.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong financial modelling and analytical capability.
- A pragmatic, hands-on approach with proven success in operational finance.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
