ABOUT OUR CLIENT & THE ROLE

Our client is a leading Australian-owned organisation operating in the wholesale and distribution sector. With a long-standing reputation for excellence, innovation, and customer service, they are seeking a Finance Manager to play a key role in driving financial performance and supporting national operations.

This newly created position will report to the Financial Controller and lead a small team of accountants. With national scope, the Finance Manager will be instrumental in preparing financial reports, delivering data-driven insights, managing forecasting and budgeting cycles, and contributing to the organisation’s commercial and strategic goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the preparation of monthly financial and management reports, including analysis and commentary.
  • Drive annual budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Operations, Procurement) to support commercial decision-making.
  • Provide financial insights to support pricing strategies, cost initiatives, and business development.
  • Identify and implement process improvements across the finance function.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory, tax, and statutory requirements.
  • Manage external stakeholder relationships including auditors and financial institutions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing finance team.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • CA/CPA qualified with a tertiary degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a senior finance role, ideally within wholesale, distribution, or FMCG.
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong financial modelling and analytical capability.
  • A pragmatic, hands-on approach with proven success in operational finance.
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
