About Our Client:
Our client is a privately owned, vertically integrated womenswear retailer with over 40 years of market presence and a strong customer following across Australia and New Zealand. With more than 140 stores and a growing eCommerce channel, they have built a reputation for quality, innovation, and a deeply people focused culture.
They are now looking for a commercially astute Finance Manager to lead the day to day finance function and support the CFO in delivering timely reporting, actionable insights, and financial stewardship across the business.
The Opportunity:
This is a hands on leadership role where you’ll oversee a small but capable finance team and take ownership of key functions including month end reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cashflow, and compliance.
You’ll work closely with senior leaders across the business to ensure financial data is accurate, accessible and used to drive performance, especially in a fast moving retail and eCommerce environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the finance team and daily accounting operations including AP, AR, general ledger and month end close
- Deliver timely and accurate management reporting, budget analysis and variance commentary
- Support the CFO with cashflow forecasting, weekly reporting, and financial planning
- Lead budgeting processes and collaborate with department heads across the business
- Ensure tax compliance across Australia and New Zealand (GST, BAS, PAYG, Payroll Tax etc.)
- Manage audit preparation and external stakeholder relationships
- Oversee property related financial admin including landlord reporting and lease systems
- Provide coaching and development to the finance team to build capability and performance
- CA or CPA qualified
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager or Financial Controller, ideally in retail or product based businesses
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence decision making through numbers
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, private company environment
- Skilled at balancing detail with big picture thinking
- Advanced Excel and strong systems capability
