Our client is a fast-growing business backed by experienced private investors and entering a significant growth phase. With plans to expand organically, enter new markets and pursue strategic acquisitions, the business has a clear vision for where it wants to go over the next few years.
They are now looking for a Finance & Operations Manager to help build the foundations for that growth. Working closely with the General Manager and ownership group, you will play a key role in improving reporting, strengthening controls, optimising systems and helping scale the business as it continues to evolve.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is far more than a traditional Finance Manager position.
Reporting directly to the General Manager with exposure to the ownership group, you will take ownership of the finance function while also supporting broader operational, compliance and business improvement initiatives. You will join at a pivotal point in the company's journey, helping establish the processes, controls and reporting frameworks required to scale the business successfully.
This role will suit someone who enjoys operating in a hands-on environment, solving problems, improving systems and helping build a business rather than simply maintaining one.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ownership of monthly management reporting, budgeting and forecasting
- Management of month-end and year-end processes
- Cash flow management, working capital optimisation and treasury oversight
- Oversight of BAS, payroll tax, superannuation and broader compliance obligations
- Partnering with external accountants, advisors and banking partners
- Development of policies, procedures and internal controls
- Improving financial reporting, business intelligence and operational visibility
- Driving systems optimisation across Xero and AroFlo
- Supporting acquisition integration activities and future growth initiatives
- Oversight of insurance, business administration and operational compliance functions
- Providing commercial support and insights to the General Manager and ownership group
- Attendance at Board and leadership meetings as required
You may currently be a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or experienced Senior Accountant looking for a broader leadership opportunity.
