ABOUT OUR CLIENT & THE ROLE
Our client is a rapidly growing business based in the city fringe who are looking for a recently CA qualified accountant to join their growing team in a newly created Financial Accountant role.
Working closely with the Finance Manager, the Financial Accountant role will take ownership of financial reporting and compliance across multiple entities, with a strong focus on AASB standards and month-end deliverables. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to transition from practice into industry, or take on a broader commercial role with excellent exposure to the full finance function.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monthly general ledger reconciliations including payroll, government grants, and intercompany transactions.
- Management reporting, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Managing the accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including reconciliation of balances and invoicing.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, including AASB 15 and AASB 16.
- Overseeing bank account reconciliations for multiple entities.
- Preparation and lodgement of IAS, BAS, and support with tax and financial reporting obligations.
- Maintaining fixed asset registers and collaborating with the remote transaction processing team.
- Supporting continuous process improvement and providing accounting expertise across the business.
- CA qualified.
- Background in external audit or business services.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and reporting requirements, with exposure to AASB 15 and 16.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop and implement process improvements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong team management and collaboration skills.
