Our client is a well-established global organisation operating within the agriculture sector, backed by a large international parent company. As the business continues to grow, they're looking to appoint a recently qualified Financial Accountant who is ready to make the exciting move from public practice into industry.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a first mover from a Big 4 or mid-tier audit or business services background to gain genuine commercial exposure while building a long-term career. You'll work closely with an experienced Financial Controller, take ownership of month end reporting across multiple business units and a genuine pathway for career growth to Senior Financial Accountant.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of month end close across multiple business units, including journals, accruals, reconciliations and management reporting
- Analyse monthly financial performance, including margins, rebates and accruals, providing meaningful insights to support business decisions
- Oversee the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and strong financial controls
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, maintain the fixed asset register and manage intercompany transactions
- Support statutory reporting, annual audits and compliance requirements across the business
- Assist with overseas supplier payments, cash management, stock reconciliations and credit control reporting
- Develop and improve reporting tools, spreadsheets and financial processes to increase efficiency and support better decision making
- Work closely with the Financial Controller and commercial stakeholders across three business units to deliver accurate and timely financial information
- CA or CPA qualified, or recently qualified
- Experience in external audit or business services within a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm
- Looking to make your first move into industry
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
- Naturally curious, proactive and someone who enjoys improving processes rather than simply maintaining them
- Confident communicator who enjoys working with stakeholders across the business
