As a result of continued growth, they are now seeking a capable and commercially minded Financial Controller to help structure and lead the finance function through the next phase of expansion.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for leading the finance function across the business, while also contributing to IT oversight. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a well-rounded finance professional with the ability to manage core financial operations while providing commercial and strategic support to the leadership team
You will play a key role in driving financial performance, supporting the company’s ambitious growth plans, and delivering meaningful insights across the business, particularly in partnership with sales and operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly and quarterly management reports
- Maintain a rolling cashflow forecast and oversee the annual budgeting process
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including ATO obligations
- Provide commercial insights to the Managing Director and broader leadership team
- Support sales and operational leaders with financial modelling and analysis
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations and ensure financial records are accurate and audit-ready
- Liaise with external accountants for tax planning, compliance, and reporting
- Supervise administration and coordinate IT service providers
- Work closely with the Quality and Systems Manager to support IT system security and functionality
- Lead and develop a small team, including regular one-on-ones and performance tracking
- Proven experience in a senior finance role, ideally as a Financial Controller or similar
- CA or CPA qualification
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and financial modelling capability
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels
- A collaborative and pragmatic approach to leadership
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment or a similar operationally focused industry (highly regarded)
- Sound understanding of compliance and financial controls
- A hands-on approach and willingness to be involved in both strategic and day-to-day finance functions
