ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Head of Engineering, you will lead a talented team of engineers, ensuring alignment with business goals and delivering high-impact solutions. You will review and right-size the engineering structure to align with product-market fit, ensuring efficient use of resources while maintaining delivery excellence. This role demands a strong leader who can reset engineering standards to industry best practices, balance strategic oversight with hands-on technical guidance, and drive operational improvements to accelerate timelines and outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Leadership: Align the engineering function with organisational goals, translating business priorities into actionable technical roadmaps.
- Team Right-Sizing: Assess and adjust team size and structure to match business priorities and product-market fit while ensuring delivery continuity.
- Engineering Standards Reset: Define, implement, and embed engineering standards and frameworks to improve quality, reliability, and efficiency.
- Process Improvement: Redesign workflows and delivery frameworks to enhance efficiency, accelerate timelines, and ensure consistent high-quality outputs.
- Technical Excellence: Drive initiatives to improve code quality, maintainability, and system reliability using best practices and modern tooling.
- Innovation Leadership: Foster a culture of creativity and innovation, encouraging the team to deliver solutions that exceed expectations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure technical strategies align with evolving business and product objectives.
- Over 10 years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles such as Head of Engineering or Engineering Director.
- Proven expertise in managing and restructuring diverse, cross-functional teams, delivering innovative solutions in fast-paced environments.
- Experience in implementing engineering standards and operational frameworks that uplift quality and delivery outcomes.
- Industry experience in technology, IoT, or similar sectors is advantageous but not essential.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
