The recent establishment of a new processing division marks a major milestone in their growth journey, and they are now seeking a strategic and operationally minded leader to help scale the business for the future.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Head of Operations, you will take the reins of a dynamic and multifaceted operation spanning fresh produce and animal protein processing. This is a critical leadership role that demands both strategic oversight and hands-on execution. You will be instrumental in streamlining processes, integrating technology, and laying the groundwork for a scalable, future-proof operation as the business grows rapidly over the next few years.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and optimise daily operations across produce and protein divisions, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance.
  • Identify and implement automation, data analytics, and other innovations to enhance operational performance.
  • Champion lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across all production stages.
  • Oversee end-to-end supply chain functions including procurement, logistics, and inventory.
  • Develop budgets, control costs, and advocate for strategic capital investments.
  • Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams aligned to growth and innovation goals.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to define operational strategies supporting ambitious expansion.
  • Ensure all operations meet health, safety, and regulatory standards, especially in protein processing.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Possess 8+ years of operational leadership, including 3–5 years in food or protein processing.
  • Strong track record in lean manufacturing, automation, and supply chain optimisation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Food Science or similar; Master’s or certifications a plus.
  • Deep technical understanding of production technologies and food safety compliance.
  • Proven team leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strategic mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.
