ABOUT OUR CLIENT & THE ROLE
Our client is a well-regarded construction and project delivery business, delivering high-quality projects across Australia and abroad. They are seeking a Junior Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month contract, based in West Melbourne.
This is a hands-on role supporting accounts payable, receivable, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting, offering an excellent opportunity to build experience in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with accounts payable including weekly and monthly payment runs and supplier applications
- Support accounts receivable by preparing and issuing tax invoices
- Reconcile local and international bank accounts and assist with daily cashflow monitoring
- Process fortnightly contractor payments and provide backup payroll support
- Contribute to financial reporting through general ledger reconciliations and offshore GST/VAT returns
- Assist with managing company motor vehicles, registrations, fuel cards, and tolls
- Provide general administrative support for office coordination and supplies
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with company policies
- Degree or qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or working towards completion)
- 1–2 years’ experience in an accounting or finance support role
- Exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, or reconciliations preferred
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills
- Good communication and teamwork skills with a willingness to learn
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
