Our client is a well-established organisation undergoing a significant transformation program, including a large-scale IT and operational separation project. They operate within a structured governance environment and are seeking an experienced professional to support procurement and contract management activities during this critical period.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an initial 3-month contract (with potential extension) for a Legal Contracts & Procurement Officer to step into a hands-on role supporting both business-as-usual procurement and a key IT separation project.
You will take ownership of the organisation’s contract register, provide strategic procurement advice, and play a lead role in contract negotiation and execution. Working closely with senior stakeholders, including executive leadership and in-house legal, this role offers exposure to complex commercial and contractual decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and manage the full contract portfolio, including renewals, extensions and novations
- Establish and maintain a robust contract management framework and register
- Lead procurement activities, including sourcing strategies, tender processes and evaluations
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts, variations, SLAs and KPIs
- Support a major IT separation project by identifying risks, dependencies and transition requirements
- Develop procurement strategies aligned to governance frameworks and business objectives
- Provide commercial and procurement advice to senior stakeholders
- Track procurement risks, issues and progress through structured reporting (RAID logs, status updates)
- Experience in procurement, contracts management or commercial roles
- Strong understanding of contract law and ability to interpret legal terms
- Proven experience negotiating commercial agreements
- Exposure to complex projects or transformation programs (e.g. IT separation, M&A, transition environments)
- Ability to work across multiple stakeholders, including senior leadership and legal teams
- Strong governance, compliance and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
