This role is based primarily at the Mount Waverley office, supporting teams working across multiple sites.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced operations professional with previous on-the-tools experience in electrical or trade based work. The role suits someone who enjoys being close to the action, identifying issues, fixing problems, streamlining processes, and supporting a busy field workforce. You'll oversee day-to-day operations, work directly with stakeholders, and guide a team delivering high-volume project and service work. The remit includes both project coordination and operational management, ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency across all activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the day-to-day delivery of electrical and communications field operations
- Work closely with technicians to resolve issues, troubleshoot onsite challenges, and support safe, high-quality work
- Review and refine processes to improve workflow, productivity, and stakeholder satisfaction
- Coordinate scheduling, job allocation, and operational priorities from the Mount Waverley office
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, supporting seamless project delivery
- Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and guidance to a field-based team
- Monitor operational performance, identify gaps, and implement practical solutions
- Ensure compliance, documentation, and reporting requirements are consistently met
- Background in operations management within electrical, communications, construction, or similar field-based environments
- Previous on-the-tools experience in electrical or communications
- Strong problem-solving ability with a practical, solutions-focused approach
- Comfortable leading teams, setting expectations, and guiding day-to-day field operations
- Ability to design, implement, and improve operational processes
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Organised, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-moving operational environment
