ABOUT OUR CLIENT

Our client is a national leader in sustainable development and resource recovery. They deliver large-scale environmental and infrastructure projects that give new purpose to land and materials, helping industry transition toward circular and low-impact operations. With continued growth across multiple regions, they’re seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the expansion of new soil reuse and rehabilitation projects.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This role will suit someone with an environmental background who enjoys navigating the approvals and compliance side of projects, working across planning, EPA regulation, and stakeholder engagement rather than day-to-day environmental fieldwork.

As Project Manager – Planning & Development, you’ll identify suitable sites, manage feasibility and approvals processes, and ensure all regulatory and environmental requirements are met. You’ll collaborate with councils, regulators, consultants, and landowners to deliver sustainable and compliant outcomes that enable major soil reuse and rehabilitation activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify potential sites for soil reuse, rehabilitation, and fill placement
  • Lead the preparation and submission of Development Applications, Environmental Assessments, and regulatory permits
  • Liaise with the EPA, local councils, and other authorities to ensure full compliance and project alignment
  • Manage project feasibility, site readiness, and stakeholder engagement
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and environmental obligations from approval to establishment
SKILLS & EXPERTISE
  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Planning, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Experience working with environmental approvals, EPA compliance, or land development projects
  • Strong understanding of planning frameworks, zoning, and waste or fill management regulations
  • Confident communicator able to engage effectively with regulators, consultants, and landowners
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Commercial mindset with a focus on delivering practical, compliant project outcomes
