Our client is a fast-growing, innovation-led business within the food and beverage manufacturing sector, supplying high-quality products to both domestic and international markets. They are now seeking an experienced, commercially astute Senior Account Manager to lead top-line growth through sales strategy, customer excellence, and end-to-end pipeline optimization.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a key executive role, reporting to the CEO and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team. You’ll play a pivotal role in developing and executing commercial strategy, expanding key customer relationships, driving new product opportunities, and overseeing procurement and market performance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the commercial function, overseeing domestic and international sales growth, key account management, and business development.
- Manage and optimise the full sales pipeline, ensuring alignment with topline growth targets and strategic objectives.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, resolving issues with a commercial mindset and a focus on long-term partnerships.
- Drive data-informed decisions through forecasting, sales analysis, and detailed reporting by SKU and customer.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with NPD, Finance, Procurement, and Operations to align strategy and execution across the business.
- Identify and build the commercial business case for new product development, analysing market insights, consumer demand, and competitor activity.
- Oversee contract negotiations and procurement across all major services and raw material categories.
- Lead, coach, and grow a high-performing commercial team that is customer-focused and innovation-driven.
- Degree qualified in business, marketing, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5+ years in a senior commercial, sales, or business development role within the FMCG sector.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering revenue and margin growth in competitive markets.
- Excellent negotiation and contract management skills, with exposure to pricing strategies and supplier agreements.
- Experience working cross-functionally across NPD, operations, and finance to drive product and portfolio strategy.
- A leadership style that balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
