Our client is a well established Melbourne based property investor with a large commercial portfolio and a growing group of operating businesses across multiple sectors. The group operates with a high level of sophistication and works closely with trusted external advisors. This role is ideal for a CA or CPA qualified accountant currently in business services who is looking to move into an in house position with strong commercial exposure. You will work closely with the CFO and Directors, gaining hands on involvement across the full finance function and broader business operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparation, maintenance and management of accounts across trusts, companies and partnerships
- Journals, reconciliations, fixed asset registers and general ledger management
- Preparation and lodgment of BAS, IAS and other statutory obligations
- Management of payroll, accounts payable and day to day cash management
- Support monthly, quarterly and annual group reporting alongside the CFO
- Assist with management reporting across multiple operating entities
- Provide support with tax compliance across the group including Income Tax, GST and FBT
- Maintain relationships with banks, external consultants and advisors
- Provide ad hoc financial and commercial support to Directors as required
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business or Accounting
- CA or CPA qualified
- Background in public practice within business services or a mixed practice
- Experience working with trusts, companies and group structures
- Strong understanding of tax compliance and regulatory requirements
- Experience using Xero or other cloud based accounting systems
- Confident communicator with the ability to work closely with senior stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive and commercially minded approach
