ABOUT THE ROLE
Due to internal promotion and an upcoming retirement, they are looking to appoint a Senior Accountant to join the team. This role will see you working closely with a Manager and directly with clients, with a clear pathway to step into a more senior position over time.
The role offers a balanced mix of 60 percent compliance and 40 percent advisory, providing exposure to meaningful client work beyond standard compliance. It will suit someone who enjoys working closely with clients, takes initiative, and is looking to grow within a firm long term.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a portfolio of clients and act as a key point of contact
- Prepare financial statements, tax returns, and compliance work
- Support advisory work including budgeting, forecasting, and tax planning
- Attend and contribute to client meetings, including quarterly reviews and performance discussions
- Build strong client relationships and provide practical, commercial advice
- Assist in mentoring and reviewing work for junior team members, including offshore support
- Work closely with the Manager to deliver outcomes across your client group
- Identify opportunities to add value through advisory services
- 4 to 5 years’ experience in public practice accounting
- Strong technical grounding across tax and compliance, with an interest in advisory
- CA or CPA qualification (or currently working towards) is advantageous
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients
- A proactive mindset with the initiative to take ownership of your work
- Demonstrated reliability and ability to deliver on commitments
