Our client is an established privately owned business in FMCG looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to take ownership of the day-to-day accounting function.
This is a broad, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being across the detail and ensuring the finance function is accurate, organised and running as it should. You'll work closely with senior management and have responsibility across payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow and general accounting.
For someone with the capability and appetite, there will also be an opportunity to get involved in reporting, analysis and improving the way financial information is used across the business.
This is a full-time, permanent position working five days per week from the office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take ownership of the day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting function
- Manage fortnightly payroll
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Manage debtor collections and follow up outstanding accounts where required
- Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Monitor cash flow and maintain accurate financial records
- Support month-end reporting and general ledger activities
- Maintain accurate accounting records across multiple entities
- Ensure the overall accuracy and integrity of the finance function
- Assist with financial reporting and analysis where capability allows
- Support improvements to finance systems and processes
- Demonstrated experience in a Senior Bookkeeper, Company Accountant or similar hands-on finance position
- Strong bookkeeping fundamentals across payroll, AP, AR and reconciliations
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable taking ownership of a finance function and working autonomously
- Strong understanding of accounting processes and maintaining clean financial records
- MYOB experience will be advantageous, although not essential
- Strong Excel skills with an interest in reporting and analysis highly regarded
- Experience within manufacturing, FMCG or a similar operational environment would be beneficial but isn't essential
- Comfortable working in the office five days per week
