ABOUT OUR CLIENT & THE ROLE
Our client is a fast-growing Melbourne-based compliance and maintenance business. Since launching in 2020, the business has grown rapidly and built a strong reputation for reliability, responsiveness and service quality across Victoria. With a practical, family-oriented culture and ambitious growth plans, they are now looking to bring on an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to support the next phase of expansion.
This is a permanent part-time opportunity working approximately 25 hours per week across school-friendly hours, roughly 9:30am to 2:30pm Monday to Friday. Reporting directly to the Directors, the role will take ownership across payroll, accounts receivable, debt collection and broader finance administration support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Process weekly payroll across field and office-based employees
• Manage payroll processing, leave administration and payroll reporting through Xero
• Monitor accounts receivable and proactively follow up overdue debtor balances
• Handle debt collection conversations with property managers and agency contacts
• Process supplier invoices and support accounts payable workflows
• Prepare and process BAS, IAS and payroll tax obligations
• Investigate invoice discrepancies and resolve payment queries
• Assist with improving finance and administration processes across the business
• Support the Directors with broader operational and finance administration tasks
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• Strong working knowledge of Xero is essential
• Previous experience across payroll, accounts receivable and finance administration
• Proven experience managing debt collection and overdue accounts
• Confident communicator comfortable speaking with clients over the phone
• Ability to work autonomously within a fast-paced SME environment
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Practical and solutions-focused approach
• High level of professionalism, discretion and trustworthiness
• Experience within trades, maintenance, property or real estate-related industries will be highly regarded
