ABOUT OUR CLIENT & THE ROLE

Our client is a large and established organisation operating within a complex, high-volume environment. Following recent changes across its finance function, they are creating a new Senior Finance Manager position to strengthen leadership across corporate finance and finance operations.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a broad role spanning financial reporting, planning, control, compliance, working capital and operational finance. You will combine strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, supported by a capable team including the Finance Operations Manager, while maintaining a strong focus on accuracy and delivery.
The role will suit someone who enjoys improving how a finance function operates, developing people and bringing structure to an environment that has recently undergone significant systems and process change.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead monthly management reporting, KPI reporting and wider finance submissions.
  • Coordinate the annual budget, rolling forecasts and longer-term financial planning.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close, including accounting reviews and issue resolution.
  • Maintain balance sheet integrity through strong reconciliations, journal controls and appropriate accounting treatments.
  • Manage statutory reporting, audit, tax compliance and internal control requirements.
  • Oversee cash flow, working capital, treasury, insurance and payment controls.
  • Provide leadership across accounts payable, accounts receivable, pricing, claims and broader finance operations.
  • Monitor operational finance performance and address service, control and resourcing issues.
  • Drive improvements across finance processes, systems, reporting, automation and data quality.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders on business cases, investment decisions and broader projects.
  • Coach and develop finance leaders while building accountability across the wider team.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • CA, CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
  • At least 10 years’ experience across financial accounting, financial control, planning or finance operations.
  • Previous senior leadership experience across a sizeable and multi-stream finance function.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including Australian reporting, tax, compliance and audit requirements.
  • Experience within FMCG, consumer goods, manufacturing, retail, distribution or another complex, high-volume environment will be highly regarded.
  • Strong ERP, reporting and advanced Excel capability.
  • Evidence of improving processes, controls and team performance during periods of change.
  • Comfortable working at pace and being challenged on the detail.
  • A hands-on leadership style with the ability to develop experienced team members.
  • High standards of accuracy, follow-through and accountability.
