Our client is a privately owned, fast growing organisation operating in a regulated, data driven environment with a global footprint. The business is entering its next phase of growth and is continuing to invest in strengthening its finance function to support scale, compliance, and complexity.
This Senior Financial Accountant role sits within a collaborative group finance team and reports to a Group Finance Manager. It is a hands on technical role, well suited to a CA qualified accountant coming straight out of audit or with an audit background before moving into industry, who is looking to deepen their exposure to complex accounting matters in a commercial setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ownership of month end close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and journal reviews
- Preparation and review of consolidated group financials, including intercompany eliminations
- Application and interpretation of accounting standards across complex transactions
- Support the preparation of statutory financial statements and audit deliverables
- Liaison with external auditors and coordination of audit requirements
- Technical accounting support across areas such as foreign currency, consolidations, acquisitions, and share based payments
- Act as a technical go to person within the finance team, supporting and mentoring junior accountants
- Assist with continuous improvement of financial systems, controls, and processes
- Ad hoc financial analysis and project support as required
- CA qualified
- Background in external audit, either currently in audit or having moved into industry after audit
- Strong technical accounting foundation with the ability to apply standards in practice
- Exposure to group reporting, consolidations, and complex accounting treatments
- Confident communicator able to work with stakeholders across finance and the wider business
- Strong attention to detail with a structured and methodical approach
- Experience with a mid to large ERP system, ideally in a multi entity environment
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a close knit finance team
