ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a key opportunity for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Financial Accountant to join a collaborative finance function in a hands-on role spanning multiple entities on a six month contract.
Reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with the wider team, you will be responsible for month-end close, management reporting, payroll, balance sheet reconciliations, rebate processing, and supporting external audit processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support month-end close activities including journal entries, GR/IR clearing, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Process payroll accurately and on time across various group entities
- Assist with accurate rebate recognition and customer invoicing in collaboration with AR
- Work with external auditors during half-year and year-end audit processes
- Ensure timely bank reconciliations to support working capital and cashflow planning
- Maintain accuracy in financial records across Australian, US, and China entities within SAP
- Partner with internal teams across supply chain, sales, and marketing for end-to-end financial insight
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives across reporting and compliance
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, business, or commerce
- 7+ years’ experience in a commercial finance or accounting role, ideally within a large or listed business
- Previous experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems (e.g. Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics 365)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial compliance
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort building templates or automation tools
- Clear communicator who can explain finance concepts to non-financial stakeholders
- Team-oriented, solutions-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively
