ABOUT OUR CLIENT & THE ROLE
Our client is a leading ASX listed FMCG business with a strong presence both locally and internationally. They are seeking a Senior Management Accountant on a six-month contract with opportunity to go permanent to deliver management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
Based in the South East, this role works closely with the Commercial Finance Manager and wider business teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver in-depth financial analysis and commentary, highlighting key trends and opportunities to improve profitability
- Prepare financial models, margin analysis, cash flow forecasting, and scenario planning to support decision-making
- Assist in preparing monthly and board-level reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Partner with the sales team to deliver weekly sales reporting, budgets, and five-year plans
- Support the month-end close process including journal postings and balance sheet reconciliations
- Review trade spend and rebate categories with sales and accounts receivable for accuracy
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and provide support for half-year and year-end audits
- Enhance financial systems and reporting processes, including developing dashboards in Power BI
- Liaise across supply chain, sales, marketing, and international teams to ensure effective collaboration
- Bachelor of Commerce or Business (Accounting/Finance major)
- CPA or CA qualified
- 7+ years’ experience in management accounting or finance, ideally within FMCG or large corporate environments
- Strong expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, and reporting
- Proficiency with ERP systems
- Advanced Excel skills, including building templates for reporting and ad hoc analysis
- Confident communicator with the ability to explain variances to non-finance stakeholders
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Curious, analytical, and collaborative with excellent attention to detail
