ABOUT THE ROLE

Join one of Australia’s leading automotive retail groups and help shape the next generation of its technology capability.

Working directly with the CTO, you’ll design and deliver enterprise-grade solutions that solve real business problems. As one of the first members of a growing engineering team, you’ll have the opportunity to influence architecture, establish engineering standards and mentor junior developers as the team expands.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, build and support enterprise-grade applications and internal platforms.
  • Develop APIs, automation solutions and business-critical systems.
  • Take solutions from concept through to production.
  • Contribute to architecture, engineering standards and release processes.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
  • Partner with Project Managers, Business Analysts and stakeholders across the business.
  • Ensure solutions meet security, governance and data residency requirements.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and offshore teams.
  • Mentor junior engineers and help build a strong engineering culture.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • Hands-on engineer who enjoys solving problems and building quality software.
  • Equally comfortable writing code, influencing architecture and partnering with stakeholders.
  • 7+ years’ software engineering experience.
  • Strong Node.js and/or Python development skills.
  • Experience building scalable applications, APIs and production-grade systems.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
  • Experience with Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins or similar tooling.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture and engineering best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Previous mentoring or technical leadership experience is highly regarded.
